The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has published the list of registrants generated from the contentious national house-to-house registration exercise but commission members are divided on how the information is to be treated, while the opposition has questioned its legality and called for its withdrawal.            Continue reading

Guyana: Sugar Industry: 2nd crop production target unlikely- GAWU

Linden Fund USA (LFU) launches “Scholarship for Success” Program – December 11, 2019

Dear LFU supporters,

In December 2018, Linden Fund USA (LFU) launched a new initiative that supports our mission to promote the academic achievement of the youth of Linden and Region 10. Called “Scholarship for Success,” the program promises that each year a cohort of students beginning their secondary school education (in Grade 7) will be supported throughout the five years. Each of these talented but financially challenged students will be provided with vouchers for books and uniforms.

President Donald Trump has doubled down on a political tactic that strains the limits of credulity: Publicly demanding that foreign powers help him win in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Trump told reporters in October that the United States’ greatest geopolitical rival, China, should investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, over his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings there.
