The Guyana Cultural Association of New York, Inc. continues its mission to inspire and support the Guyanese culture of creativity and to celebrate the gloriousness of diversity and difference through its new line of Jigsaw Puzzles.

These Puzzles can be shared across generations and represent the rich variety of Guyanese festivals which promote better cultural and interracial understanding. The Jigsaw Puzzles celebrate the Guyanese traditions of the Diwali Festival of Lights, Phagwah or Holi and the Masquerade Band.

This is a 48 piece Puzzle: Masquerade Lives and Happy Holi for the 6-12 age group highlighting cultural traditions which will help to bond young children with their family’s cultural traditions, while exploring and accepting new traditions and cultural practices and artifacts.

 GCA Cultural Puzzles are priceless gifts which will help to create a foundation of belonging and acceptance through cultural celebrations..

The 336 piece Diwali, Festival of Lights and Masquerader 2021 are ideal for family time, offering old school fun across generations, without the use of technology.

 GCA wants each child to recognize their own cultural traditions in the festivals we have chosen to represent. We hope these images will assist in the process of normalizing inclusion in our children and will encourage an appreciation for and an understanding of the beautiful differences of the various cultures of Guyana.

 Each box of GCA Cultural Puzzles will include a fly-sheet with an explanation of the Festival chosen.

GCA received the support of famous prize-winning Guyanese artist Dudley Charles whose Masquerader 2021, acrylic on canvas is one of the images in our catalogue. The Diwali, Festival of Lights image is another Festival represented in the catalogue, compliments of Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha  (Motorcade 2019.) Other drawings are by artist Claire Ann Goring, representing Masquerade Lives and the Phagwah Festival.
