Guyanese cardiologist cops prestigious European award

A well known Guyanese cardiologist has copped the Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) Award for top worldwide cardiologists.
Dr. Hughley Hanoman is the first Guyanese to have won the prestigious award and the fifth West Indian to do so.
The award is given to outstanding cardiologists for research or clinical excellence. He will travel to Paris to receive the award on August 27.
Dr. Hanoman, a former Queen’s College student, graduated as a medcical doctor from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and did his post graduate studies in cardiology in London, Canada, and Scotland.
He did several short courses between 1972 and 1988 in the United States, England, and the Caribbean. Continue reading →

Godfrey’s Nostalgias is a Series of NOSTALGIA NIGHTS – where Guyanese will have the opportunity to get together to reminisce and preserve and promote Guyana’s Culture and Heritage yesteryear. The first in the series of “Nostalgias Nights” is scheduled for ( Saturday June 25th was an incorrect typo in the original release) Friday June 24th at 7pm when all movie fans are invited to share various aspects of ‘the now ‘dodo Cinema Experience’ in Guyana.
Godfrey’s presentation will include a Photographic presentation of Cinemas in Guyana – The Academy Award Challenge 1928 to 2010 – Movie Quiz with cash prizes – Classic Movie Scenes – The Music of Hollywood – the Rise and Fall of the Guyana Cinemas Open Mike for shared Cinema Experiences.
