BBC NEWS 20 April 2021: There’s been a massive backlash against plans by some of the world’s biggest football clubs to start a new European Super League (ESL).
The clubs involved say the ESL will benefit football as a whole, but critics say it’s driven by greed.
Which teams want the Super League?
Twelve clubs have signed up – six of them from the English Premier League.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, have joined AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid.

Not unlike politricks “democracy” in football is
non existent ! Since the “oligarchs” take over was permitted/introduced. Capitalistic ideals/dogma. Profit motivated ownership.
Football fans should become the new shareholders with one member one vote
in principle and practice. Or football will become a “rich man/fan sport”
Most fans have become “couch potato” fans
with “pay to view” TV commercialism.

The plans collapsed in the last 12 hours due to massive push back from UEFA and FIFA. They threatened to disqualify any players participating in the Super League from playing in the National Teams. The Super League plans are now history….
