Hidden miracles of the natural world – Louie Schwartzberg – TED video

Louie Schwartzberg: Hidden miracles of the natural world

Published on Apr 9, 2014 – We live in a world of unseeable beauty, so subtle and delicate that it is imperceptible to the human eye. To bring this invisible world to light, filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg bends the boundaries of time and space with high-speed cameras, time lapses and microscopes.

At TED2014, he shares highlights from his latest project, a 3D film titled “Mysteries of the Unseen World,” which slows down, speeds up, and magnifies the astonishing wonders of nature.

    Enlightening.
When I moved from Florida to NY not too long ago, I lamented the lack of nature in my very small backyard of overgrown bush. I weeded and hacked and pulled and planted till my backyard is almost how I want it to be. But I lost all my ladybugs in the process, which I found out, via the internet, like overgrown brushes with tiny white flowers. But I now have bumble bees -they are on the verge of extinction int he US (they love my oregano bush), and a few butterflies (hopefully more will come when the butterfly plants I planted fully develop ). Then I began to wonder about the dragonflies. I had no dragonflies. I decided to do an internet search on how to attract them and I now have dragonflies – they like water so I got a bird bath to serve that purpose. Nature was so bountiful and everywhere in Florida I never had to find out how to attract it around me. I so much prefer being in the company of nature than the company of humans…

Thanks for the video. One forgets the beauty of nature when constantly surrounded by those who have no appreciation or regard for it.

My nature is the GOD thing…good bad and ugly.
It sometimes have to be cruel to be kind.
