Bharrat Jagdeo, the outgoing President has declared that today is the day when over 470,000 registered and eligible Guyanese will go to the polls to vote for a new Head of State and Government.
All systems have been cleared to go and up to press time the blank ballot papers were being stored at strategic points around the country and under armed police protection.
The Official List of Electors has been prepared, verified and accepted by all of the parties contesting the election and the names have been placed by the polling stations for persons to check.
Alternatively persons still looking to access their names and polling place can visit www.search.gy enter their ID card number at the appropriate location and conduct a digital search which lasts mere seconds. Read more
