FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS is about a family’s journey from their homeland of Guyana to America. The film has been receiving critical praise from critics and film festival audiences around the world and will be opening in US movie theatres this November.
In FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS a rebellious teenage girl struggles to navigate a broken relationship with her mother and a troubled adolescence, while memories of her absent father continue to haunt her. After receiving shocking news about her father, she embarks on a journey from New York to Guyana to discover the truth about her family’s mysterious past.
Starring Melinda Shankar, Ritu Singh Pande, Aidan Quinn and Jimi Mistry, the film was written and directed by Shundell Prasad.
