Kevin Pietersen’s book is a good place to start. His views are less about cricket and more about the politics of pettiness in English cricket.

After criticizing the state of English cricket Pietersen says, ‘you need stars if you want to grow your game.’ There is word that another star Shivnarine Chanderpaul is writing a book about his treatment by the cricket administration in the West Indies. When this book is published will we read about the politics of West Indies manipulative tactics?

Here is one for the purists: In November 2013 Dave Cameron, President of the West Indies Cricket Board, paid tribute to Shivnarine Chanderpaul for becoming the first West Indian to play in 150 Tests.

According to Cameron, ‘ Shiv may be a quiet man but he is a tower of strength in our batting. He may not be as destructive as Chris Gayle…but Shiv is an icon in his own right and we want him to know that we value him.’ This sounded reasonable enough but there was more from Cameron a few months later.

Since this article was written coach Phil Simmons complained about ‘outside interference’ in team selection and he was suspended by the WICB. It seems like one step forward and two steps backward.

This present WIBC administration is destroying cricket in the West Indies. I have mentioned before that Cameron is a poor Chairman of the WIBC and it is time for him to go. He has been a misfit in the organization and the Caricom leaders should ask for his immediate resignation. The three selectors who voted against Bravo and Pollard making the ODI team should also resign. They are ‘yes’ men to the Board and do not seem to have a mind of their own. West Indies will never come back as a top team once this present administration is in the saddle.

Glad its Dave Cameron and not David Cameron present PM of UKPLC.

CRICKET selection in WI is always political.
Not sure how “democratic” the WICB is .,.if itts anything like FIFA
Take your pick corruption or politricks.
    Shameful and disgraceful.
Time to turn the “page” or “upgrade” the book on Cricket selection
    process.
