Guyana: Agreement signed for US$5M concrete manufacturing facility by United Arab Emirates (UAE) company

A US$5M investment to develop a 20,000 square foot manufacturing facility intended to produce biaxial voided slab technology in Guyana is the first manufacturing international joint venture partnership and investment between Guyana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The partnership was facilitated by Guyanese merchant bank, Smart City Clearing Company Limited, between Guyanese-based engineering, procurement, and construction firm, Global Infrastructure Solutions Guyana Inc, and Undiome Global DWC LLC, an Emirati-owned company.      Continue reading →

The world powers and Iran recently struck a deal to curb Iran’s nuclear program for at least 10 years in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions. One of the most talked-about side effects of the deal is the reentry of Iranian crude on the global markets.

Interestingly, although Iran has a huge amount of oil, the Islamic republic doesn’t even make it into the top three when it comes to proven crude oil reserves.

The Dubai Fountain – Tribute to Whitney Houston – I Will Always Love You 2012

Check out this amazing Dubai Water fountain tribute to Whitney Houston, choreographed to “I will always love you” song with dancing water and lights.  Pretty unique 5- minute video.

The Dubai Fountain is a record-setting choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre man made Burj Khalifa Lake, at the center of the Downtown Dubai development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At the Dubai Fountain,  there are 6600 lights, 25 projectors, and a 902 ft long display, with the water shooting up 490 ft into the air, (as high as a 50 storey building) . It cost about US$218 million dollars to build.
