Canada: Montreal: The Police force is not a health service – By Yvonne Sam

 – By Yvonne Sam

On November 1, when I heard the news on the radio that a male had been pepper sprayed at close range by the Montreal police ( SPVM), that he was experiencing a mental crisis, and had been taken to the hospital, the only words that evoked an egress from my lips were “ Not again!”

Surprisingly, not for a nanosecond did an inkling of a thought linger on the color aspect, as I intuitively knew the color that most often gets in trouble with law enforcement.

Sexual Orientation: Pedophilia—The next normal – By Yvonne Sam

Pedophilia—The next normal – By Yvonne Sam

Every sane thinking human should truly understand that we are in a monumental “spiritual-moral-crisis”, whereby too many humans  are attempting to make wrong, right and make it work.

Initially it was a matter of appearance, whether a person looked like a male or looked like a female. In the event of appearance producing some uncertainties, then sex could be determined and established by examining a person’s birth certificate. There is a silent tragedy developing right now, in our homes, and it concerns our most precious jewels – our children. Through my work with hundreds of children and families as an occupational therapist, I have witnessed this tragedy unfolding right in front of my eyes. Our children are in a devastating emotional state!
Talk to teachers and professionals who have been working in the field for the last 15 years. You will hear concerns similar to mine. Moreover, in the past 15 years, researchers have been releasing alarming statistics on a sharp and steady increase in kids’ mental illness, which is now reaching epidemic proportions:

When the Media team decided on the theme, Wellness, for the November 2015 online magazine we did wonder whether reuse of articles on various cures for ailments of the body would form the greater portion of the edition. Not so – although quips about remembered doses of castor oil after a sumptuous meal, such as, the one enjoyed by most persons on Thanksgiving Day were made.  Continue reading
