In February, Guyana celebrated the 43rd Anniversary as a Republic and  Mashramani, its cultural Celebration.   

This monthly newsletter is published early every month, with news and events that occurred the previous month and not covered in the Blog entries which are entered daily.

About 70% of our estimated 20,000+ readers live in the USA, Canada, and the UK.

In February 2013 the Blog had 57,686 views, second highest ever, in a total of over 1,028,258 views to date.  We have therefore passed a million views. The total Blog entries are now almost 2400 so there is lots of information, including music videos, to access.

Mashramani opens Guyana Tourism season

The Guyana Ministry of Tourism Industry and Commerce will unveil its 2013 tourism package with the arrival of more than 500 visitors to its Mashramani celebrations, which begins with a steel pan concert on Jan. 28 and continue with a variety of events scheduled all the way to Republic Day on Feb. 23.

One of the biggest events planned for this year is the country’s first Rum, Rhythm and Food Festival planned to begin the tourism season.    Continue reading
