The Diamond Secondary School’s “Golden Queen of Eldorado” which copped first place

Glittering, dazzling floats and dancing revelers decked out in a galore of colours created quite a stunning attraction this year at the annual Children’s Costume Parade.

The thousands of spectators who lined the streets of Georgetown and turned up at the National Park, on Saturday January 18, were treated to impressive performances by excited students who enjoyed gyrating to the loud music in their breathtakingly, beautiful costumes. [more]

In what can be termed a surprise to some patrons of the 2012 Carib Soca Monarch Finals, Jumo”Rubber Waist” Primo Sunday morning walked away with the coveted Carib Soca Monarch prize of $1.5M for his spectacular performance at the National Park.

The runners up are Linden’s George Anthony Abrams; who came in second and who also copped the prize for highest scoring newcomer; followed in third position by Adrian Dutchin.  [more]
