Granger vows probe into ‘Sash’ Shaw’ murder and other crime wave killings
AUGUST 10, 2015 | BY KNEWS | President David Granger yesterday (August 9, 2015), promised that thorough inquiries will be held into the killings of former Minister of Agriculture, Satyadeow ‘Sash’ Sawh and all who were slain during the 2000 and 2008 period.
The President made the announcement at a one-day symposium organized by the Cuffy 250 Committee in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Berbice Slave Rebellion. The event was held at the Critchlow Labour College. Continue reading
GUYANA: Quindon Bacchus Police Killing – Misleading report triggers violent protest across 15 East Coast villages

Jun 29, 2022 –Kaieteur News – A misleading news report by an online media house, the Guyana Daily News, is being blamed for triggering violent protests on Tuesday across 15 East Coast Demerara (ECD) villages.
It all started when the online media house reported that a policeman, Kristoff DeNobrega, who is accused of unlawfully killing a Haslington man, Quindon Bacchus, 25, was released from custody. The Haslington man was shot six times earlier this month by the policeman during an alleged sting operation to seize an illegal gun.
