Terror in France, again: Why Nice?

Why Nice was an unsurprising location for a terrorist attack

Nice is best known for ornate churches and palm-tree-fringed beaches. Less well known is its intractable problem with Islamic radicalisation, which is among the most severe in France. Yesterday’s terrorist horror, in which a truck mowed through Bastille Day revellers, killing 84 people, was reportedly carried out by a Tunisian-French resident of the city.   Continue reading
