TRINIDAD: Crackdown on illegal migrants from Venezuela: COVID-19 threat

PORT OF SPAIN (CMC) – The Trinidad and Tobago government has said it would crack down on legal Venezuelan migrants engaged in illegally allowing their relatives and friends from the South American country to enter the island as health authorities confirmed an increase in the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases here.

National Security Ministry Stuart Young, speaking at the Ministry of Health virtual news conference, said the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) and other national security agencies will be searching for and detaining anyone involved in human trafficking or anyone harbouring illegal immigrants.

TRAVEL: Caribbean Airlines To Resume Regional And International Schedules From Jamaica Hub

Trinidad and Tobago is still closed to routine international travel

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago, June 30, 2020 (CMC) – The State-owned air carrier, Caribbean Airlines (CAL), announced, it will resume its regional and international operations, from July 6, on a phased basis, out of its hub in Jamaica.

The airline, like many others, worldwide, was grounded as countries closed their borders to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a letter, sent to customers, CAL thanked them for “bearing with us, during what has undoubtedly, been an extremely challenging period”.          Continue reading

Amidst the panic what message are we sending to the kids.

The news has been received—Yes, the coronavirus is here. Fear Not.

But mass panic is also here- FEAR.

As a health care professional for more than four decades, there is very little to which I have not been exposed in my profession – HIV, whooping cough, tuberculosis, shingles, measles, hepatitis, diphtheria. Demand for Caribbean Economic Citizenship Increases as Coronavirus Spreads
