GUYANA: COVID-19: Unvaccinated GPHC staffers locked out of compound

–- say they won’t be forced to get vaccinated

August 27, 2021 – Kaieteur News – Scores of medical personnel from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) were yesterday locked outside of the health care facility due to the fact that they were unvaccinated and could not provide a negative PCR test.

This is in keeping with the Government’s “no vaccine, no entry” policy. Earlier in the month, the Ministry had announced that unvaccinated health care workers will be given up to yesterday, Wednesday, August 26, 2021, to at least take the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, before the Government’s mandatory vaccine or negative PCR requirement came into effect at the hospital.    Continue reading

Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Justice Ret’d Claudette Singh wrote Police Commissioner Leslie James on May 22nd asking for information on the allegations made by APNU+AFC that people who were not in country on March 2nd were ticked off on polling stations lists as having voted.

Notre-Dame: The story of the fire in graphics and images – BBC News

An investigation has begun into the fire that swept through the medieval cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, destroying its roof and spire.

Much of the roof was covered in scaffolding as part of a big renovation programme, which is being investigated as a possible cause of the blaze.
