Sometimes a work of art goes through several stages before the artist considers it complete or fit for public viewing. Sometimes one idea gives birth to several works of art or a series of paintings. Each artist will discuss their individual approaches to and experience of the creative process.

Dennis de Caires was born in Georgetown and moved to England when his family emigrated in 1970. He studied painting at Winchester School of Art, The Royal College of Art (London) and Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Stanley Greaves began his studies with Edward Burrowes in the Working Peoples’ Art Class. He attended the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK) to study painting, majoring in sculpture for the B.A.Hons degree in Fine Art. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Howard University, where he studied printmaking and sculpture for the MFA degree.
