DISASTERS: ELECTRICITY: How Long Would Society Last During a Total Grid Collapse?
A summary of how other systems of infrastructure (like roadways, water, sewer, and telecommunications) depend on electricity and how long each system could last under total blackout conditions.

We don’t think on a regular basis of how important electricity is to keep society functioning. But the worst-case scenario can happen.
1) natural disasters like the winter storm in Texas in February 2021 and frequent ice storms in other areas in North America can spell real disaster;
2) there is always the worry of a terrorist attack on the grid network;
3) in the Armageddon scenario, a renegade asteroid could plummet to Earth and knock everything out;
4) powerful solar flares could also cripple power supply in a large swathes.
That’s how much modern society is dependent on electricity to function on a day-to-day basis.
It makes you wonder how ancient societies got by without electricity and all the things we are now so accustomed to and take for granted.
