BUSINESS: DEAD MALL – Full Walkthrough of Sunrise Mall (Creepy) – Massapequa NY (Est 1973)
The year 2023 will see a number of malls closing permanently. This Sunrise Mall closes on December 31, 2022. It is located in Long Island NY.
This is because of changing shopping patterns and the rise of on-line shopping plus competition from newer malls. However, the most destructive has been the over-supply of shopping options and changing demographics.
This video gives an example of the “Death of The Mall” — especially speeded up as large department stores (anchor stores) close. I am sure that it will remind you of the older malls in your town or city.

One woman in GT turned her dying mall into offices. Apparently, it was doing well. Unfortunately, a fire broke out and…I don’t know what’s happened now. Point is, it’s such a crying shame that the dead malls aren’t used for other reasons.
A thriving mall is one that allows the customer to get the most out of his time spent on shopping activities such as the movies, eateries, stores and watching other people etc. Apparently, the case in question lost its customer base to competitors better able to meet these needs and should, unless it is at a busy corner that facilitates rapid service to passing customers, remain in the apparently thriving office space market.
