The writing was on the sky… It was to be expected sooner or later as people realise that Brexit is making the Brits poorer not richer as promised by Boris and other pro-Brexit tories. The truth is unfolding across the entire country. Fishermen are realising that the EU had financed their harbours and made sure that they could fish off the coast of Iceland. Being out of the EU means no more fishing in Icelandic waters. This is just one example of many, I could mention.
#1 never fan..but if I remember, there was to be independent consultations between the E U and U K after..if this here is true…
The EU, taken as a whole is the UK’s largest trading partner. In 2020, UK exports to the EU were £251 billion (42% of all UK exports). UK imports from the EU were £301 billion (50% of all UK imports).
Looks to me, they need each other, almost equally, nothing like Caricom and poor GUYANA we don’t need them… sorry had to take a shot..
Wally, Brexit led to 14% fall in UK exports to EU in 2021. That’s huge. In addition, the £301 billion exports of the EU to the UK are just 16% of the total £1861 billion of EU exports. Seems to me the UK needs the EU more than the other way around.
The UK has drastically increased the volume of natural gas being pumped to the EU amid Russia’s war in Ukraine, powering a record monthly rise in goods exports to the continent despite Brexit.Jun 13, 2022
I don’t want to prolong this, I am sure this site is filled with “experts” but my gut feeling is, the UK must have already fine toothed all these possible short comings, they usually do. I gat nuttin…

Are you sure that the UK pumps NG to the EU?
Correction: You are right Wally. The UK indeed also exports natural gas. I was aware of oil but not gas. Some new I got to learn!
