BOOK: Beyond Bourda Green: a memoir – by Percy Haynes (Author)
Beyond Bourda Green: a memoir – Kindle Edition
Born in a tenement yard in the British colony of Guiana (now Guyana) on the shoulder of South America, Percy Haynes, in Beyond Bourda Green, writes about the changes in his homeland and people during the transition to an independent nation. His multi-faceted career as Journalist, Communications Expert, University Lecturer and Foreign Service Officer enables him to tell a fascinating story about his childhood memories, his experiences in finding his place in the world and the birth pangs of the new nation.
The memoir Beyond Bourda Green by Percy Haynes tells the story of the awakening of the people of Guyana to shake off the shackles of colonialism in the twentieth century to create a better life for themselves and their children. Haynes tells the story through the intersection of his experiences as a Journalist, Communications Consultant, University Lecturer and Diplomat and the birth pangs of the transition of Guyana from a colony to an independent nation. As Guyanese debate about the political crisis, Beyond Bourda Green provides the background for reflections on the road the country has traveled, as well as the charting of the road ahead.
The Kindle edition of Beyond Bourda Green is now available from Amazon.com. Kindle Price $3.12 – includes free international wireless delivery via Amazon Whispernet. Deliver to your Kindle or other device.
