USA-CANADA: Border Blockade; No Access To Canada via Ambassador Bridge – Video

Published on February 9, 2022 – Day 3 of the Bridge Blockade which continues

The Ambassador Bridge, which usually carries 25% of all trade between the U.S. and Canada, is half-closed for the Third straight day. There’s still no access to the part of the bridge that leads into Canada. There is some traffic on the side leading into the U.S. The cause of the closure is a blockade by people protesting vaccine mandates in Canada. Today, Friday 11 February 2022, will be the fifth day of this blockade which stretches for miles.

USA: Californian Leondra Kruger Possible Pick for U.S. Supreme Court – and her Mom is Jamaican

LOS ANGELES (AP) — When Leondra Kruger settled into her new chambers at California’s highest court seven years ago, she asked her top assistant to place the reports from the U.S. Supreme Court on the shelf behind her desk. 

It was an unusual request for a state court that does not frequently deal with matters of federal law, but Kruger wanted the justices’ latest rulings nearby, said attorney Greg Wolff, the former head of her chambers.

“She just wanted them within reach,” Wolff said. “I think the U.S. Supreme Court is her first love.”

Kruger, an associate justice on the California Supreme Court, may herself be within reach of a seat on the nation’s highest court. She is one of several Black women — judges and lawyers — whose names are being circulated as possible picks by President Joe Biden to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.             Continue reading
