    I agree with VP Jagdeo that the gas-to-shore project is vital for Guyana’s future. Natural gas makes up to 20% of the off-shore hydrocarbon resources. If you pump oil, you also get the gas. Bringing this abundant resource to shore and utilising it for power production and export as liquified natural gas (LNG) makes therefore much sense to me. What would be the alternative? Do we want to see more flaring? VP Jagdeo school master behaviour and know-it-all attitude is however not very helpful in selling the project to the Guyanese public. In addition, the project more credible, if it were coupled with a massive solar power program that would provide solar panels with a storage batteries to private homes. This program could be financed via the revenues made from LNG exports.
