“Due to moderately  improved weather conditions and drainage of lands, flood waters have begun to recede across the country with several Regions reporting significant decline in the height of flood waters, however given the extent of the flooding there still remains some amount of water in some communities,” the CDC said Wednesday night.        Continue reading →

United States (US) Democrats appear to be closely paying attention Guyana’s political landscape that has been historically split along race lines, just 10 months after a change of government in this South American nation.

Democratic Congressman, Hank Johnson on Wednesday became the second American congressman in recent days to have publicly issued a call for everyone to be included in decision-making. Canada weather: Dozens dead as heatwave shatters records in British Columbia

Dozens of people have died in Canada amid an unprecedented heatwave that has smashed temperature records.

Police in the Vancouver area have responded to more than 130 sudden deaths since Friday. Most were elderly or had underlying health conditions, with heat often a contributing factor.

Canada broke its temperature record for a third straight day on Tuesday – 49.6C (121.3F) in Lytton, British Columbia.

The US north-west has also seen record highs – and a number of fatalities.
