GUYANA: ExxonMobil makes 20th discovery at Longtail-3 – Offshore

ExxonMobil today said it made a discovery at Longtail-3 in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana – its 20th find offshore Guyana.

In a statement, it said that drilling at Longtail-3 encountered 230 feet (70 meters) of net pay, including newly identified, high quality hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs below the original Longtail-1 discovery intervals.

The well is located around two miles (3.5 kilometers) south of the Longtail-1 well. It was drilled in more than 6,100 feet (1860 meters) of water by the Stena DrillMAX.      Continue reading

Edgar Maddison Welch, a 28-year-old warehouse worker, drove the 350 miles from his home in Salisbury, N.C., to Washington, D.C., on Dec. 4, 2016, and stormed into the Comet Ping Pong restaurant with an AR-15 assault rifle and a Colt revolver. His mission: to destroy a pedophile ring identified by the Internet. On the way, he made a cellphone recording, according to The Washington Post, for his two young daughters: “I can’t let you grow up in a world that is so corrupt by evil, without at least standing up for you and other children just like you.”

The story was false, Welch quickly discovered, and he surrendered to police. He later wrote to the judge that he realized “just how foolish and reckless my decision was.”          Continue reading
