Germany bids farewell to Angela Merkel – An amazing leader for 18 years – opinion

 Angela Merkel

Germany bids farewell to Angela Merkel with six minutes of warm applause.

The Germans elected her to lead them, and she led 80 million Germans for 18 years with competence, skill, dedication and sincerity.   During the  eighteen years of her leadership of the authority in her country, no complaints or alleged transgressions were recorded against her.   She did not assign a secretary to any of her relatives.   She did not claim that she was the maker of glories. She made no “perfect” phone calls, nor did she try to get people to do unlawful things for her.

She did not get millions out of her position, nor did anyone cheer her life with gifts and support.   She did not receive charters, pledges or spurious nominations for a Nobel Prize.   She did not fight those who preceded her.   She did not utter nonsense and  she did not criticise other world leaders or appear in the alleys of Berlin for ‘photo opportunities’.

  • It is Angelica Merkel,  the woman who was dubbed “The Lady of the World”.

Merkel left the party leadership position and handed it over to those after her and Germany and its people in the best condition.

The reaction of the Germans was unprecedented in the history of the German people.  Throughout the nation people everywhere went out to the balconies of their houses and applauded her spontaneously for six continuous minutes of warm applause.

Germanystood as one body bidding farewell to the leader of their nation, a Chemical Physicist who was not tempted by fashion or bright lights, fame and celebrity.  She did not buy real estate, expensive cars, luxury yachts and private planes, knowing that she grew up knowing want in the austerity of former East Germany. She left her post after leaving Germany as one of the world’s top countries

Over eighteen years she did not change her personal style often wearing old clothes.——At a Press conference, a female journalist asked her: “We notice that your suit is repeated, don’t you have another?”   She replied: “I am a government employee,  not a model.”

At another press conference, they asked her: “Do you have housemaids who clean the house, prepare meals and so on?”Her answer was: “No, I do not have female workers and I do not need them.   My husband and I do this work at home every day.”

Another  journalist asked her: “Who washes your clothes, you or your husband?”   She answered: “I arrange the clothes, and my husband is the one who operates the washing-machine and it is usually at night, because off-peak electricity is available.   The most important thing is to be considerate to the neighbours although the wall separating our apartment from the neighbours is quite thick.

She went on to say, “I expected you to ask me about the successes and failures in our work in the government.”

Mrs. Merkel lives in an ordinary apartment like any other citizen. She still lives in the apartment she lived in before being elected Prime Minister of Germany.   She does not intend to leave it and does not own a luxury villa, servants, swimming pools and gardens.

Merkel, the Prime Minister of Germany, is leaving Germany with the largest economy in Europe.

Many politicians around the world should take note. Especially, all those populists that put appearance ahead of performance.

End of an Era: Chancellor Angela Merkel Prepares To Step Down After 15 Years

    WION News

Only a few leaders can boast of a track record that can match Angela Merkel’s record. Serving as the German Chancellor for 15 years and counting, she has worked with five British prime ministers, four French presidents, seven Italian prime ministers and four American presidents.

Her party now has a new leader — ARMIN LASCHET. He will lead the charge of the Christian democratic union in the September polls.

Merkel’s exit from the Chancellor’s office will be the end of an era as she was the first woman to take Germany’s top job in 2005.

When Merkel rose to power, many had dismissed her as inexperienced and uncharismatic. However, during her 15-year reign, Merkel has proved herself time and again.

This sums up, in a nutshell, the character of an outstanding and morally-adjusted leader and human being. It is a stark contrast to a certain vainglorious, morally-bereft occupant of another high office.

She has left Germany and, to a lesser degree, the world a better place.

Total failure, her lopsided Eugenics will be her Legacy, forcing of of foreign cultures, for colour swatting or cheap labour, was damaging to Germany and to the countries losing almost all of their young men. Her sense of importance, weak opposition allowed her to wreck havoc, leaving is the best thing that could happen.

What a load of rubbish! I work in Germany and can testify the everything you are say is wrong and ill informed. How dare you use the word “Eugenics” to characterise post-war German politics? A consequence of the terrible atrocities carried out by the Nazi regime in the name of “eugenics”, Germany has one of the strictest laws banning any such practices. This point just illustrates that you are placing outrageous comments without any knowledge about the subject.

I have no problem with constructive criticism and Angela Merkel’s administration is not free of mistakes and false policies, e.g the appeasement policies towards Russian aggression in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region, and the Middle East.

Dat fella is not worth wasting time on. He’s a diehard supporter of the US racist who made it to the highest office in the land. He’s too ignorant to know that when the Nazis were committing societal cleansing like eugenics that Angela Merkel wasn’t even born.

Kudos to you for calling him out.

I was hoping you would address the mass migration, what was the reason, what would be the results? the effect on the present population, I said “lopsided” in the sense elimination of a so called inferior white race. You tell me. All political decisions can be, and will be reversed. I think she was a skilled politician , and the just an ordinary person was an act, that worked, she had an inflated ego.I must give you that Eugenics sets off Germans,so? The mass immigration is a simmering cauldron that she is leaving, far from ever being settled.

With mass migration you are probably referring to the acceptance of 1 million refugees, mainly fleeing from the Syrian civil war, in 2016. This was a humanitarian gesture. In fact, Germany has been accepting for years refugees from all over the world contrary to your perception. It’s no. 5 world-wide according to the UNHCR:

  • wally n  On 03/23/2021 at 11:05 am

I would imagine that you are in a much better place than the beneficiaries of the humanitarian gesture, and I was hoping since you work there, maybe you can update us on their present state.I think generations of ghetto, hope I am wrong and BTW humanitarian gesture only looks good on paper.especially for merkel.
I hope Guyana does not fall for this humanitarian gesture, i see bad signs.

    • brandli62  On 03/23/2021 at 11:48 am

40-50% of the 2016 refugees have entered the work force, none are living in camps, and all children are schooled. This is a pretty good track record, right?

  • wally n  On 03/23/2021 at 12:02 pm
