Guyana Govt. signs US$70M in Contracts for housing development + video

March 18, 2021 – Kaieteur News – Government on Tuesday March 16, signed close to 200 contracts totalling US$70 million (G$14 billion) for housing development, forging ahead with its promise to provide 50,000 house-lots for Guyanese.

With those deals signed, contractors are expected to commence infrastructural works and construction of houses in areas countrywide, including Cummings Lodge, Prospect and Great Diamond…. (See video below HGPTV (Channel16 Cable67))

GUYANA: OIL: ExxonMobil on track to triple production capacity in Stabroek Block

 Mar 18, 2021 – Kaieteur News – ExxonMobil and its production partners in the Stabroek Block are on track to triple its production capacity offshore Guyana, as its second Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO)—Liza Unity—vessel nears completion.

The massive 220,000 barrels per day (bpd) FPSO is being constructed at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore with SBM Offshore announcing on Tuesday March 16, that the topsides lifting campaign for the Liza Unity FPSO was recently completed.      Continue reading

Germany bids farewell to Angela Merkel with six minutes of warm applause.

The Germans elected her to lead them, and she led 80 million Germans for 18 years with competence, skill, dedication and sincerity.   During the  eighteen years of her leadership of the authority in her country, no complaints or alleged transgressions were recorded against her.   She did not assign a secretary to any of her relatives.   She did not claim that she was the maker of glories. She made no “perfect” phone calls, nor did she try to get people to do unlawful things for her.    Continue reading

The established ruling elites know there is a crisis. They agreed, at least temporarily, to throw money at it with the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 bill known as American Rescue Plan (ARP). But the ARP will not alter the structural inequities, either by raising the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour or imposing taxes and regulations on corporations or the billionaire class that saw its wealth increase by a staggering $1.1 trillion since the start of the pandemic.             Continue reading
