MUSIC VIDEO: The Who – “Won’t Get Fooled Again”- with lyrics – written 1971: recorded 1978

By: The Who – Won’t Get Fooled Again (Shepperton Studios / 1978)

LISTEN TO THE LYRICS- Still relevant after 50 years. Have things changed???. They do not make songs like this anymore. I saw them live (1982), in Toronto. Brought back memories when looking at the 2020 USA Presidential Elections… that is why this song is featured here. (Cyril Bryan)

This song is from the Who’s iconic anthem from 1971’s ‘Who’s Next’ album. It is performed here on B-Stage at Shepperton Studios on 25 May 1978 Filmed by Jeff Stein for the closing sequence of ‘The Kids Are Alright’.  Listen to the end.. “Meet New Boss” .. “Whao, same as the Old Boss”

 Some of the comments:

7:37 to 7:56. Keith Moon’s drum solo, Roger Daltrey’s scream, Pete Townshend’s knee slide and John Entwistle’s backstep :). All in 20 seconds. What a band! What a gas!.

These guys were the real deal, right up there with the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin as the best of the ’70s British bands-  and of course the Rolling Stones. Townsend was a great songwriter and showman and a vastly underrated guitarist. Daltrey’s voice rivaled Plant (Led Zeppelin). Moon, (the drummer) has become a legend and nobody, anywhere, could touch base guitarist Entwistle. They just don’t make ’em like they used to.
