Does that include importing Mercedes, Lambos and Ferraris?
These petroleum agreements stink to heaven. How is the Guyanese state expected to recover any fees from the activity of these companies, if 1) they and their employees (?) are tax-exempt, 2) all costs related to the development of the oil fields have to be covered by the Guyanese government, 3) all liabilities rest ultimately with the Guyanese government, and 4) all the oil revenues have to be shared with the oil company. No private citizen would sign such a contract.
It’s thanks to the ongoing revelations published daily in Kaieteur News that the Guyanese public starts to see the details of these terrible contracts signed under the Ramotar government.
Guyana is a colony again. This time, a colony of the American, British and Israeli oil companies. Where the Dutchman oil company deh?
