Satellite images show the scale of the damage caused by Tuesday’s (August 4, 2020) explosions in the Lebanese capital, with buildings miles from the port lying in ruin. The blast comes at a terrible time for Lebanon, which is on the brink of financial collapse.

    Devastating images of the densely populated area adjacent to the port. How much more suffering can a country’s people endure? Should a similar event occur at the Port of Los Angeles, thousands of Los Angelenos living near to the port would also be left homeless. Port authorities worldwide should be vigilant about the danger of explosive chemicals stored at the port.
