JOE BIDEN LEADS IN POLLS

Joe Biden leads Donald Trump by 15% among registered voters nationally and holds a 20-point lead when it comes to who Americans trust to handle the coronavirus pandemic, according to a major poll out on Sunday.

In the same ABC News/Washington Post poll, Biden led by two points in March and 10 points in May. Now, among respondents who said they will certainly vote in November, Biden leads by 11%.

Fox News also released a poll on Sunday. It put Biden ahead on coronavirus, race relations and the economy and eight points up nationally.

In an interview with Fox News Sunday recorded at the White House on Friday, Trump said “I’m not losing, because those are fake polls” and refused to say if he would accept the result if Biden won in November.

“I have to see,” Trump said. “I have to see. No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.”

On Saturday, the New York Times and Washington Post reported that the White House is seeking to block funding for coronavirus testing and tracing, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and state and Pentagon efforts to tackle Covid-19 abroad.

Biden director of rapid response Andrew Bates said: “Trump is turning his back on his most important responsibility to the American people because in the words of his own advisers, he ‘doesn’t want to be distracted by’ the worst public health crisis in 100 years. This is absolutely unconscionable.”

Trump told Fox News Sunday he took “responsibility always for everything” regarding the pandemic.

But he also said he might veto the next stimulus package designed to help unemployed Americans and small business if it did not include a payroll tax cut. As that would dramatically affect social security and other vital programs, it is seen by most in Congress as a political non-starter.

More than 3.7m cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the US, now at a rate of about 70,000 a day, and more than 140,000 people have died.

According to the ABC/Post poll, Biden has also caught up to Trump on trust to run the economy and leads by nine points on trust to handle crime and safety. That will be a worrying number for Trump as he seeks to make law and order a central plank of his campaign, portraying Biden as a puppet of protesters demanding radical policing reform.

On Fox News Sunday, Trump claimed Biden supported calls to defund police. Host Chris Wallace pointed out that was not true, leading to an angry exchange.

Wallace also asked why the US did not have “a national plan” for tackling the pandemic and if Trump took responsibility for that.

“Look,” the president said, “I take responsibility always for everything because it’s ultimately my job, too. I have to get everybody in line.”

That contrasted with an infamous remark made at a press conference in March, when Trump said “I don’t take responsibility at all” for problems with federal testing.

Trump also repeated a familiar claim, saying the amount of testing the US was doing “skews the numbers”, and was challenged about his remark earlier this month that the coronavirus would “at some point … sort of just disappear”.

“I’ll be right eventually,” he said. “I will be right eventually. You know, I said: ‘It’s going to disappear.’ I’ll say it again … It’s going to disappear and I’ll be right.”

The president said he had a good relationship with Dr Anthony Fauci, the White House coronavirus taskforce member who has reportedly been blocked from television and who has said he has not briefed the president in months.

“I spoke to him yesterday at length,” Trump said, “I have a very good relationship with Dr Fauci.”

He also said Fauci, who has served six presidents since 1984 and has emerged as a trusted and frank public voice, was “a little bit of an alarmist”.

Biden was due to run coronavirus-themed ads during the interview in six battleground states, in which polling averages put him in the lead. In the ABC/Post poll, Trump’s overall job approval was down nine points to 39%.

Trump, 74, declined a chance to say his 77-year-old challenger was “senile” but said: “I’d say he’s not competent to be president.” The Fox News poll found that more people think Biden is mentally sound compared to Trump.

Mary Trump’s Tell All Book:

The president also blasted his niece, Mary Trump, whose tell-all book sold nearly 1m copies on publication day. The clinical psychologist has been highly critical of her uncle in interviews, having defeated an attempt to silence her through the courts.

Trump repeatedly complained that his niece depicts his father, Fred Trump, as a “psychopath”. In fact she says the property developer, who died in 1999, was a “high-functioning sociopath” who shaped his son’s personality.

On Sunday, as the media frantically parsed Trump’s latest battery of misleading or inflammatory claims, it seemed the decision to sit for an interview with Wallace may not have been a wise one.

Trump played golf in Virginia, but found time to tweet about his decision to send federal agents to Portland, Oregon, the site of extensive protests over racism and police brutality.

Regarding Trump’s bad polling, Jason Miller, a campaign adviser, tweeted: “Media pollsters got it wrong in 2016 and they’ve gotten even worse in 2020. Now they’ve become suppression polls, with the specific – and intentional – goal of trying to demotivate Donald Trump’s base of support.”

Something is wrong somewhere, Democrats been in power for years and years, sold/gave away the country to Europe/China, now Trumps fault the country is messed up, stand by with you apologies,no one dare say anything anti Liberal, so you get fake news and silence. He is going to run them over like a bulldozer.

  • Brother Man  On July 20, 2020 at 11:45 am

The Dems gave away or sold America to China and Europe, says Wally.

    1. When was the sale or gift made, Wally?
    2. How much was it sold for?

    3. Trump will bulldoze his way over the Dems. To the contrary, Trump will be whipped like a puppy dog. On election night he will have to run and hide in the bunker in shame.

Wally, how can you defend a man who is a known racist, a bigot and a xenophobe? The man hates Blacks, has used the n-word to describe black people. He wants immigrants from Norway and not from Haiti or Africa — s-hole countries. He refused to rent his apartments to Blacks in 1973.

He has mishandled the coronavirus and calls a hoax. Thousands are dying because he’s incapable of leading. He is a con man and a misfit. He is unqualified to be president. Everyone knows it and can see it, except you.

Wally, wake up. It is 2021. Trump would have you sit at the back of the bus and let you live under Jim Crow laws. Many gave their lives so can have basic human rights in America. Yes, MLK and thousands of Black people sacrificed their lives so you can be a traitor.

You should be ashamed of yourself to support a hater and a bigot. You should be embarrassed to defend a man who would put innocent children in cages.

MARTIN PENGELLY, WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THIS BULL SHIT INFORMATION FROM, THAT YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO PUBLISH? DO YOU DREAM THIS CRAP UP IN YOUR SLEEP AT NIGHT AND CALL YOURSELF A WRITER IN THE MORNING. IF YOU THINK THAT THE MENTALLY INSANE JOE BIDEN IS AHEAD OF TRUMP, YOU APPARENTLY ARE NOT LIVING IN THE US AND DON’T REALLY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. DON’T PUBLISH CRAP YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT.

    • Brother Man  On July 20, 2020 at 7:13 pm

Why are you shouting? Martin didn’t dream up anything. It’s the reality.
Donald J. Trump will lose in a landslide even if a
donkey ran against him. You label Joe Biden as ‘mentally insane’. At least he’s not as insane as the madman Trump who would have you crazies like his supporters ingest bleach to clean the coronavirus off their lungs. Have you recently had a cognitive degeneration test? Perhaps it’s something you may want to consider because you seem detached from reality. And anger management, too.

Mental Health Experts: Why The Next Four Months Could Be Really Dangerous

Trump’s Narcissism and Antisocial Disorder Have Taken Over; He Is Unraveling in Plain View

Alan D. Blotcky and John M. Talmadge | DC Report

Donald Trump commuted the sentence of his crony, Roger Stone. As Mitt Romney [Republican] tweeted, “Unprecedented historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president.”

THIS IS AN ACT OF CORRUPTION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. So, the president of the United States takes action to help his buddy, a convicted felon, but he cannot take decisive steps to combat the coronavirus pandemic and save lives.

This is an example of Trump’s mental disorder and a stark preview of his unraveling over the next four months leading up to the November election.

Now, Trump has found a new foil and is attacking Anthony Fauci, a highly respected public health expert. Dr. Fauci has served in five presidential administrations. He relies on data and science. Trump trying to discredit Dr. Fauci is a desperate attempt to blame him for Trump’s own catastrophic handling of the deadly pandemic.

This is another reflection of the gravity of his mental disorder.

    UNSTABLE AND UNRAVELING

What we are seeing in plain view is a narcissistic and antisocial president who is unstable and unraveling daily. He is faced with falling poll numbers, a ferocious and ignored pandemic, an economic recession that he caused, a damaging tell-all book by his niece and defeats by the Supreme Court.

Trump’s Responses: Rants, tweets, lies, whining, conspiracy theories, threats, scapegoating, corruption, feeling victimized, stubbornness. The list goes on and on.

SINCE TAKING OFFICE, TRUMP’S MENTAL DISORDER HAS BEEN IN FULL DISPLAY. Story after story has been written about his grandiose view of himself; his 19,000 lies to the American people, his bullying, his vindictiveness, his unprecedented breaking of norms, his reckless behavior, his total lack of empathy, his use of projection, his refusal to accept responsibility for his actions and his corruption.

ALL COMBINED, THESE SYMPTOMS AND CHARACTERISTICS AND BEHAVIORS CONSTITUTE A MENTAL DISORDER THAT IS SERIOUS AND DEBILITATING. And the only way to change a personality disorder is with ongoing treatment, especially psychotherapy.

    COGNITIVE ISSUES, TOO

ADDED TO HIS PERSONALITY PATHOLOGY IS THE STRONG LIKELIHOOD OF TRUMP’S COGNITIVE DECLINE. His vocabulary range has narrowed. His abstract thinking is limited. His reasoning is shallow. He is unfocused. He has difficulty processing complex information. His decision-making is impaired. His judgment is poor. He often appears listless and apathetic. He repeats simple words and phrases over and over. He cannot shift and adapt. His gait can be abnormal. He had trouble drinking a glass of water with one hand. TRUMP’S COGNITIVE DECLINE COULD BE REFLECTIVE OF DEMENTIA; SUCH COGNITIVE PROBLEMS GRADUALLY GET WORSE, NOT BETTER.

Heading to the November election, Trump’s mental disorder will continue to unravel in the face of mounting pressures and stress. He will become increasingly erratic, unstable and desperate. His display of power and corruption may not be hidden any longer. He will take great measures to suppress voter turnout. He will incite racism and a culture war. He will blame and scapegoat others. He will engage in escalating rants, tweets, name-calling, accusations, overt threats, projections, bullying, lies, gaslighting, triangulation, obstruction and whining.

TRUMP’S THINKING, REASONING, DECISION-MAKING AND JUDGMENT WILL CONTINUE TO WANE.

THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS WILL BE UNNERVING AND UNSETTLING FOR SURE. Trump is unraveling before our eyes.

Alan D. Blotcky, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Birmingham, Ala. He is clinical associate professor, Department of Psychology, University of Alabama at Birmingham.

John M. Talmadge, MD, is clinical professor of psychiatry, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He is also Senior Medical Advisor, The Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas.

The old bully is unteachable and unhinged. Like they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
What’s even more scary, he may not want to leave office in November when he loses, just like the lil fella in Guyana. He might even use the military to that end. Did you notice Lafayette Square? Did you see the red flags? Did you see the guy in military fatigue?

A Threat to Our Democracy: Trump Refuses to Commit to Accepting 2020 Election Results

“A dangerous affront to our democratic system and a slide toward totalitarianism. We cannot take this lightly.”

Common Dreams – by Jake Johnson, staff writer –   Comments

In a Fox News interview that aired Sunday, President Donald Trump refused to commit to accepting the results of the 2020 presidential election.

“I have to see,” Trump said when asked by Fox News host Chris Wallace whether he intends to accept the election results. “No, I’m not gonna just say yes. I’m not gonna say it, and I didn’t last time either.”

He baselessly claimed mail-in voting is going to “rig” the contest—remarks one advocacy group condemned as an “insidious” attack on democracy.

Sean Eldridge, founder and president of Stand Up America, said in a statement that Trump’s comments show “he is an existential threat to our democracy and has no respect for the rule of law.”

“For five years, Trump has sought to undermine our elections again and again—from soliciting foreign interference to making baseless claims about voter fraud to lying about the results of the 2016 election,” said Eldridge. “Today’s comments are an escalation in these attacks on our democracy and show the insidious ways in which Trump is working to sow doubt about the outcome of this election before votes are even cast.”

“The American people must be prepared to mobilize if Trump refuses to concede,” Eldridge added.

Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, tweeted that “it was not okay four years ago when Donald Trump said he might not accept the results of the election.”

“When he says that now as president, it is a dangerous affront to our democratic system and a slide toward totalitarianism,” Bookbinder wrote. “We cannot take this lightly.”

Last month, Stand Up America and Indivisible launched a grassroots campaign to prepare for the possibility of Trump rejecting the election results and refusing to leave office if he loses in November. The campaign is aiming to “build a network of millions of Americans who pledge to take action should Trump refuse to accept the results or if he attempts to declare victory while the actual outcome remains unclear.”

Ahead of the 2016 presidential contest, Trump told his supporters that he “will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election… if I win.” Since entering the White House in 2017, Trump has repeatedly floated the idea of remaining in office for more than eight years.

“We have no reason to believe he will leave willingly after losing reelection,” said Ezra Levin, co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible. “Preparing for the possibility of Trump refusing to concede isn’t just reasonable, it’s the responsible thing to do.”

Tyranny and a constitutional crisis unfolding in broad daylight in America.

It is a real possibility. The man in the White House has been pushing the envelope of democracy and the rule of law with little to no pushback from the Republican Party.

Case in point, at his impeachment trial — where in defiance of the Constitution he boldly refused to comply with Congressional subpoenas to hand over documents relevant to the trial and to allow witnesses to testify. Utterly incredible and unprecedented.

Under such a backdrop, what makes anyone think that he will not refuse to graciously concede after he has been defeated in November? A constitution that has stood the test of more than two centuries is now under serious threat of catastrophic failure. Only those who are asleep or are going blind can be excused for not seeing it.

    Trump Goes to the Vatican:

The Donald took a quick trip to Rome to show his concern for the Pope:

“I met with Pope Francis today. He’s a really great pope — great, great pope. You know he’s the leader of the Catholic Church — big church.”

“I couldn’t believe it when he told me how many Catholics there are. Way more than I thought. They have churches all over the world; some are very, very close (so close) to my hotels and golf courses.

He tells me he’s elected for life, probably copying that Xi guy in China. Fantastic idea, though. Fantastic. It turns out the pope is a lot like me, you never see him with his wife.”

“He told me he’s infallible. I said that’s great, you’ll never have to worry about breaking a hip. And he told me about a Mary Magdalene, beautiful girl, beautiful. Apparently a hooker.

I asked him for her number. Didn’t catch his answer. I’m told he said it in Latin. I give the guy credit because he doesn’t look Latino.”

“He took me into the Sistine Chapel. Beautiful ceiling. Not the usual white stucco stuff. I don’t think too many people even know about this place. The paintings are great, I’m telling you. Lots of colours.”

“The Pope (great guy, by the way, knows more about the Bible than almost anybody — we got along great, I think he really likes me) told me the whole thing was painted by this young Italian.

I think his name is Mike Langelo. At least that’s what Francis (we’re great friends) called him, I think. Trust me, we’re going to hear more about this guy.

He’s really artistic, and everybody tells me I have the greatest eye for the best art. It’s natural, just like my incredible understanding of science. All the renowned scientists say they can’t believe it.”

“I told Frank I’d like to buy some of Mike’s art. I asked if Mike’s done anything on velvet. He’ll check (great guy). I’ll hang his stuff at Mar-a-Lago or Trump Tower. This Mike guy needs more exposure.

He could paint my presidential portrait on the Capitol Dome. Or maybe a mural on my big, beautiful border wall; but just on our side.”

“When we left, the pope gave me a bible. Huge book. (Huge). I told him I have the full set. You get one for free every time you take a porn star to a hotel room.”

    [pause]

“Unbelievable. Just heard the lamestream media is at it again. Fake news. I just saw something on TV. They claim Mike the painter died 450 years ago.

Sad. I’ve already got people looking into this and you won’t believe what they’re finding.”
