Congratulations to Pandit Ubraj Narine on being elected Mayor of Georgetown. In the euphoria of having oil money Guyana and Georgetown can make grand plans but must remember the rising sea level will inundate the coast in the years to come.

The oil money should be used to build a new capital city on high ground near CJIA.

Two of his main projects are to restore City Hall and the Big market clock. I can’t wait to hear the chimes of the clock again. It reminds me of running to catch the ferry at GT in the old days.

When will you clean up the city and stop crooks occupying other peoples property illegally and renting it out . Without justice the country will be ravished by crime and corruption and there will be no progress.
