Ambassador Riyad Insanally to speak at Diaspora Organization Official Launch and Fundraiser in New York.

Apollo Beach FL- Guyana’s Ambassador to the U.S., Dr.Riyad Insanally, will be the guest speaker at the Launch and fundraiser of the United Guyanese Diaspora Global Network Corp on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 9: PM to 2:AM at the Royal Empress Hall, located at 122-21 Rockaway Blvd, South Ozone Blvd, New York. Ambassador Insanally has been a strong supporter of the mission of UGDGN Corp which brings unique value to the diaspora in the U.S., and later, will expand to the global Guyanese diaspora.

An invitation was also extended to H.E. President David Granger to attend the event. Other invited guests include Guyana’s Consul General Miss.Barbara Atherly (NY), Guyana High Commissioner Mrs.Clarissa Sabita Riehl, Consul-General Miss. Anyin Choo (Toronto), New York Miss.Senator Roxanne Persaud, and New York Congresswoman Miss, Yvette Clarke.       

The fundraising event will assist with providing back-to-school supplies for primary school children in Guyana, as well as financing a project in collaboration with the International Organization (IOM) for a Skills-Mapping survey to fill gaps in Guyana, including the oil and gas sector.

UGDGN has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IOM to work closely on projects to foster development in Guyana. UGDGN signed a MoU with the Guyana Tourism Authority to collaborate in providing tourism benefit packages to increase diaspora travel and tours throughout Guyana. Additionally, UGDGN formed a strategic partnership with Caribbean Cargo DC to provide discounts in shipping to Guyana. Guyanese can now receive a15% discount from Caribbean Cargo DC when shipping to the Caribbean through UGDGN.

    Young Guyanese- American Lawyer to speak at Diaspora Organization Launch in New York-June 8, 2019

    Apollo Beach, FL- After careful consideration of a field of impressive second-generation Guyanese candidates, the United Guyanese Diaspora Global Network has chosen Bianca M. Forde, a young lawyer born in the U.S.A. to Guyanese parentage to speak at its Official Launch and Fundraiser. This inaugural event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 8:00 PM to 2:00AM at the Royal Empress Hall, located at 122-21 Rockaway Blvd, South Ozone Blvd, New York. This accomplished young woman will be the Youth Guest Speaker as a second-generation Guyanese, along with Guest Speaker H.E. Ambassador Insanally.

    Ms. Forde is currently a member of the Major Crimes Trial Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia (“USAO D.C.”). There she investigates, indicts, and tries criminal matters in D.C. Superior Court, and represents the United States before the D.C. Court of Appeals.
    Prior to joining USAO D.C., Ms. Forde spent years litigating complex commercial disputes, domestically and abroad, and representing corporate entities alleged to have violated anti-trust, corruption, and anti-money laundering laws. Having lived and worked in Dubai, UAE, Ms. Forde has significant corporate governance and litigation experience under UAE and Jordanian law. While in private practice, she zealously represented pro bono clients in civil rights proceedings before federal district courts in New York.

    Ms. Forde received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in Newton, Massachusetts. She is licensed to practice law in the state of New York, and also in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. She enjoys reading, volunteering, international travel, and fitness-related activities in her spare time.

    An invitation to attend the event was also extended to H.E. President David Granger who will not be able to attend. Guyana’s Consul General Miss.Barbara Atherly (NY) will be attending the event. Guyana High Commissioner Mrs.Clarissa Sabita Riehl, Consul-General Miss. Anyin Choo (Toronto), New York Senator Miss.
