The truth has always been a loner and also the uninvited guest in any dialogue. However, even in the face of all accompanying negativity and alienation, the need for its appearance exists.
Some representatives of the Black community have always displayed a cultural antagonism towards intelligence. Simply put, the crux of the problem, existing in the Black community among the more dysfunctional of us, is not a lack of intelligence, but our attitude towards knowledge.
Dating back to slavery we have developed a degree of hostility towards knowledge, and/or any Black mortal, who displays a proclivity to display an exceptional level of intelligence. We equate this with selling out or trying to be White. Speaking in politically-correct terms, we tend to view knowledge, or its pursuit, as part of the white man’s domain. Continue reading

The world’s capacity to produce food is being undermined by humanity’s failure to protect biodiversity, according to the first UN study of the plants, animals and micro-organisms that help to put meals on our plates.
The stark warning was issued by the Food and Agriculture Organisation after scientists found evidence the natural support systems that underpin the human diet are deteriorating around the world as farms, cities and factories gobble up land and pump out chemicals. Continue reading
