The Dumbing Down of America – By Dr. Dhanpaul Narine

Anti-Intellectualism and Common Core

The revolution is in our living rooms and it is digitized! We are surfers and facebookers that sit for hours becoming dumb on smart gadgets. We live in a culture of low expectations. We laugh at ourselves when we fail to grasp the most basic of concepts and what is worse is that we shrug it off and simply refuse to revisit the problem and correct our mistakes. Who is using education for a voyage of self- discovery or to seize the technological moment?

President Donald Trump accuses the media of fake news. But he produces a fake claim by saying that his administration received the most electoral votes in the last election. Trump has told the world for years that Obama’s birth certificate was a fake but he was forced to recant it publicly.

Children in ABC countries know how to change their biological gender before Sherlina Nageer can use American coercion to insist that girls between the ages of 16 and 18 are virginal babies, and any boy who gets amorous with them should be in prison for 45 years:

Sherlina Nageer, Joel Ghamsham and SASOD, why is an 11-year-old male allowed to change his gender if 16 to 18 year olds aren’t ready for issues relating to sex? Isn’t that hypocritical that a man in Guyana can get jailed for 45 years if the legal age is raised to 18, but someone from the SASOD community can coerce someone way younger than 16 or 17 to change their sex?

Thanks for your commentary, Dr. Narine. We are witnessing daily the dangers to our society with our cult of ignorance.

Instead of crying about the decline of educational standards in America, why not focus on the educational standards in Guyana and the Caribbean? This blog is called what? We know how dumb Americans are, look who they elected president.!….Enough of the obsession with America. Please try to be helpful to the country of your birth and the uncertainties it now faces. Thanks.

To be fair, many of the contributors are overseas and part of the Diaspora, who fled Guyana decades before the massive discoveries of oil. They might not be aware of the changes in this country, such as the influx of Europeans and Chinese in G/Town and that the tallest building is not St. George’s Cathedral or BoG, but dozens of commercial buildings owned by foreigners.

They likely left when Venezuela was welcoming Guyanese with open arms and giving us plenty oil for rice.

It is also apparent that Guyanese who live abroad such as Dr. Mangal, are treated like trash and disrespected like donkeys for suggesting measures that could prevent corruption of oil monies.

Don’t forget that there are hundreds of Guyanese teachers in America that see the ‘dumbing down’ on a daily basis. As far as Guyana is concerned there is a lot of work to be done. Here is one project that excites me: Two days ago, I met officials in a High School in NY. They have a wonderful robotics program. I am trying to get them to team up with a school in Guyana, that is also working on robotics, so that can exchange information via Skype. When this happens it would be historic. The NY High school, incidentally, has a Guyanese principal and a number of Guyanese teachers. The teacher in charge of its robotics program happens to be Guyanese as well. The possibilities here are endless!

Globalist allowed Tech. companies in the US to use H-1B without control, causing a bottleneck in the Educational system, they were allowed to cherry pick the best, got them for bargain prices, leaving many brilliant Americans out of luck. Also meant there was never a hurry to improve the School System. There is a possibility this will happen with the upcoming Oil Industry, so you are right that the training of Guyanese to fill important positions is extremely important. In Canada the influx of trained machinist from Eastern Europe a few years ago [before globalist destroyed manufacturing] almost did the same to Canadian workers and the Apprentice programs, so companies used “Hire one Train two”
I believe that Guyanese can rise to the occasion, they did it before in almost every Industry, in Guyana and around the world, just need the training.

GPL and GTT should be fixed first and foremost, unless y’all are using solar power or wind power for your robotics.
