V.S. Naipaul – By Dr Dhanpaul Narine

‘Whenever I walk on Liberty Avenue I see V.S. Naipaul,’ says Attorney Rakesh Rampertab. ‘Naipaul has allowed us to see ourselves in an authentic way and to examine our situation without being ashamed,’ Rampertab added.

He was speaking at the conference organized by the Queens Book Fair and Literary Festival Inc. to discuss the works of V.S. Naipaul. It was billed as ‘Understanding V.S. Naipaul’ and it took place a week ago at the Hillside Library in Queens. The conference attracted a number of literati from the Queens area, and beyond.
