US Politics: Michael Avenatti says Democrats Must ‘Fight Fire with Fire’ – Eyes Presidential Run

Michael Avenatti says Democrats Must ‘Fight Fire with Fire’ as He Eyes Presidential Run

……..   Lawyer who rose to fame with the Stormy Daniels

Michael Avenatti could become the second person to go from cable news fixture to president.

Speaking to a crowd of activists at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding event, Avenatti left the room electrified. The lawyer, who is exploring a potential presidential bid, turned what has been a sleepy presidential pre-season – UPSIDE DOWN.

The lawyer for Stormy Daniels has become a national sensation with his ever-constant appearances on cable news advocating for his client and attacking Donald Trump. But while activists like Avenatti on television, they loved his live show, Friday. They clapped, they cheered and flocked to him for selfies afterwards in a mob scene.

Jeff Link, a top Democratic operative in the state who was spending the day accompanying Avenatti, said the only comparison he had ever witnessed was Barack Obama’s first visit to the state, in 2006.

In his remarks, which went for nearly half an hour, or twice as long as the limit for speakers at the event, Avenatti drew repeated standing ovations as he called for a vigorous, aggressive Democratic response to Trump.

He turned Michelle Obama’s famous statement from the 2016 convention – “When they go low, we go higher” – by telling the crowd: “When they go low, I say, we hit harder.”

Avenatti insisted on tough tactics, telling the cheering audience: “I believe that our party, the Democratic party, must be a party that fights fire with fire” and warned that for too long the party has had a “tendency to bring nail clippers to a gunfight”.

The trial lawyer also acknowledged the unusual circumstances that brought him to the point of considering a presidential bid. “What, you may be asking, is a quote-unquote porn star lawyer doing talking to us about our republic, our party?”

He cast himself as a protector of the little guy. “I can stand here today and say with pride that I’m not just some TV lawyer,” said Avenatti. “I’ve been fighting for Davids versus the Goliaths for 18 years, my entire career.”

After his speech, Avenatti spent over 20 minutes surrounded by a mob of attendees who were seeking selfies. Among the group of mostly female fans was Bonnie Norris, who had driven four hours from Red Oak, Iowa, to see Avenatti. “I think he is fantastic,” said Norris. She seemed giddy about the experience. “I daydreamed that I would get a selfie with him and I got it!” “I haven’t been this excited since JFK.” – Bonnie Norris, added.

Despite the combative rhetoric, Avenatti embraced mostly conventional Democratic policy including “sensible gun control”, investing in public schools and a “real infrastructure plan”. Among current progressive shibboleths, he supported Medicare for all.

However, Avenatti came out against abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, (ICE) to reporters after the event. “I completely disagree with the idea of eliminating ICE. We should not eliminate ICE, it’s like saying we should eliminate the police force.” The trial lawyer, who recently went to the USA-Mexico border and has done legal work on behalf of families being separated, made clear he favored changing policies on ICE and said the agency was engaging in “abuses of power”.

He also said he was still unsure about full repeal of the 2017 Republican tax cut bill. “I haven’t made a decision,” said Avenatti. “I am exploring that, researching that, seeking advice from people relating to the tax plan as far as whether it should be fully repealed or partially repealed. Ultimately I’ll certainly have a position.”

Although he has no experience in elective or appointed office, Avenatti felt comfortable that he could serve as president. “I think I could do the job,” he told the Guardian. “I’m fairly confident I could do the job. I think one of the reasons why I could do the job is because I think people would be enthusiastic about assisting me. You know being president is a solo decision. You surround yourself with highly qualified people that are smarter about issues than you are. But that’s not enough. You then have to listen to them.”

Avenatti acknowledged conversations with former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who has claimed to have recordings of Trump, but did not comment any further. “I’m not going to go into the details of what I said about that. She had reached out to me a number of months ago,” said the lawyer.

Avenatti, appeared alongside two dark-horse presidential candidates, Congressman John Delaney of Maryland and Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio.

The Wing Ding wasn’t Avenatti’s only event in Iowa. On Wednesday evening, Avenatti had a private dinner at a country club in Des Moines where he dined with top Iowa operatives as well as a number of past and present chairs of the Iowa Democratic Party.

On Thursday, Avenatti visited the Iowa state fair and, on Friday, before the event, he visited a northern Iowa farm to learn about agriculture policy. He told the Guardian that it was “very illuminating.”

This won’t be Avenatti’s only lesson in Iowa. The trial lawyer is returning to Des Moines later in August to speak before a convention of local Democratic election officials.

Trump’s N-word Tape is Going to be Pussygate All Over Again

More Accusations That Bring on A Grim Sense of Déjà vu

Arwa Mahdawi | The Guardian UK

Shocking news this week as it emerges the president of the United States may be a RACIST.

Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former White House official and reality TV star, claims in her forthcoming memoir that Donald Trump used racial slurs to describe Kellyanne Conway’s half-Filipino husband.

The book also alleges that tapes recorded during the making of The Apprentice capture Trump saying the “N-word” multiple times.

You’ve got to hand it to Manigault Newman: She’s certainly got a gift for grift. A long-time friend of Trump, not only did she ignore his racism while she could profit off it, she helped sanitize his bigotry.

She spouted lies like: “Trump is racial; he is not a racist.”

She let herself strategically be used to make the White Supremacist House look a little less white. Now that Manigault Newman has left the government, she’s trying to cash in on the #resistance with a tell-all book about the administration called UNHINGED.

Trump may very well be UNHINGED but she’s the definition of UNPRINCIPLED.

Trump’s tactic to attack black people and women: Insult Their Intelligence

News that Trump is captured on tape being indefensibly bigoted might bring on a grim sense of déjà vu.

Remember when people thought the infamous “grab them by the pussy” Access Hollywood tape would hurt Donald Trump?

Of course, it did nothing of the sort. If anything, it only further ingratiated Trump with his base. One imagines that the news that Trump is on tape saying the N-Word will play out exactly the same way.

By now it should be very clear that Trump’s racism and sexism are not BUGS, they are FEATURES.

They’re the reason he is so popular amongst Americans who believe, as Laura Ingraham recently put it, that demographic changes in the USA constitute a “national emergency”.

Pretty much the only thing I can think of that would hurt Trump’s standing is if he was caught on tape saying: “TAX THE RICH! OPEN THE BORDERS!”

Trump Calls Omarosa ‘a lowlife’ After Memoir Claims Racial Slurs

Former White House Aide’s Tell-All, which claims Trump used the ‘N-word’, prompts backlash

Ben Jacobs | The Guardian UK

Donald Trump has called Omarosa Manigault Newman “a lowlife” in his first public response to the former White House aide’s tell-all book.

In excerpts from the book entitled Unhinged, which were first reported by the Guardian, Manigault Newman claimed the president had used the “N-word” repeatedly, and also used racial slurs to refer to George Conway, the half-Filipino husband of the top White House aide Kellyanne Conway.

Manigault Newman, who had previously appeared with Trump on his reality television show The Apprentice, also said in the book that she believed he was “a racist, a bigot and a misogynist”.

The remarks were a break with comments made during the campaign when the former reality television celebrity vowed that those who had criticized Trump would bend the knee to him. “Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump,” Manigault Newman said in an interview with PBS in 2016. “It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

Asked about the allegations at a photo-op with the group Bikers for Trump on Saturday in Bedminster, New Jersey, the president said: “Lowlife … She’s a lowlife.”

Manigault Newman was dismissed from the White House in December, 2017. At the time, a source familiar with her departure told the Guardian that she had long been uncomfortable defending the Trump administration as the most prominent African American woman in the White House. Her tenure culminated when the chief of staff, John Kelly, summoned her to the White House situation room to fire her.

Afterwards, Trump praised Manigault Newman on Twitter, saying: “Thank you Omarosa for your service! I wish you continued success.”

On Friday, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, issued a statement on the book, saying it was “riddled with lies” and condemning Manigault Newman for not praising Trump.

“Instead of telling the truth about all the good President Trump and his administration are doing to make America safe and prosperous, this book is riddled with lies and false accusations,” said Sanders.

I believe Michael Avenatti is the perfect ‘David’ to take on ‘Goliath’.

To my way of thinking, this is how I see the USA:

There was a time, say, the 1930s when the USA was about 85% white.
Today, it is about 60% white and declining.

White people enjoyed a whole host of privileges back in the 1930s.
Around the late 1960s, things really started to change …

Immigration laws changed, which allowed more non-whites into the USA, for example.

Also, don’t forget this was a time of turmoil in the USA, from the assassinations of their leaders black and white, to the Vietnam War and killings on University Campuses here there and every where. [details would fill a book – filled several]

Today, Traitor Trump and his Base are attempting to turn back the clock. Traitor Trump is attempting to create an Apartheid System of governance in the USA.

The problem with this agenda is they must rely on the little guy or Amaroso and her ilk to defend this backwardness.

Michael Avenatti seems ready, loaded and locked to take on the rich white boys – in other words, ‘Goliath’ …

    The way I see it!
