By Dr. Dhanpaul Narine
Alyssa Raghunandan is in the #TOP 24 in the 2018 season of American Idol. She is grateful for all the support she has received and thanks everyone for being a part of the #RaghuCrew.
Alyssa is witty, charming and supremely self-confi dent. Whatever the outcome of her journey on American Idol, Alyssa is already a winner. She has won the hearts and minds of an adoring public. She has woken up quiet Windsor Forest in Guyana, the bustling metropolis known as the Big Apple, and her mother’s hometown in Mexico.

Alyssa will be singing live this Sunday and Monday evenings on ABC television on American Idol. Please tune in and support her.
Thanks for the video Clyde. Her mother is Mexican and her father is Guyanese. The latest is that Mexico is rooting for her as well as Guyana, New York and Florida. A true international story.
Alyssa is definitely in the running – in the lead pack – and in with a tough crowd.
My advice to her is listen to what the judges are saying to the other contestants and take it to heart – as though the judges are talking to Alyssa – pay attention.
The judges are offering valuable advice for staying at the front and winning –
They are talking to you, Sweet Sixteen!
Sometimes we have to connect the dots, because our advice is not so obvious to the student / listener:
In other words, turn down the volume when the competition is performing – it is just noise ….
– and turn up the volume when the judges are giving advice!
She didn’t make it in the top 14 but she should not lose heart. She did well and made her community proud. There will be other opportunities to shine.
Oh well, I don’t have a TV – but I checked out the competition on YouTube. I am not a musician so I pay attention to the judges …..
Lionel Ritchie’s facial expression said it all while Alyssa was singing the duet ….
Nothing more for me to add, EXCEPT: When you lose – Don’t lose the lesson!!
