Guyana Speaks – Bourda Bazaar – Sunday 10th December (2pm – 5pm). London. UK

REMINDER….   Guyana Speaks will be holding it’s Bourda Bazaar on Sunday, 10th December (2pm – 5pm).
The ultimate aim of Bourda Bazaar is to raise funds for the purchase of a 5hp Yamaha outboard motor for the children of Wakapoa (in the Pomeroon): those based in outlying regions are in urgent need of a motorised boat to take them to school.  But it will also be a great opportunity for you to network, do your Christmas shopping, support small Guyanese businesses, join in the raffle and enjoy all things Guyanese.     MORE DETAILS BELOW

Over the weekend, a familiar story repeated itself: Tiger Woods returned to professional golf.

The event in question, this time, was the casual but star-studded Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, and the time elapsed since his last competitive round was 10 months, during which Woods underwent another in a string of back surgeries and was arrested for driving under the influence of painkillers.   Continue reading →

A deep dive into 400 years of my ancestry, as measured by AncestryDNA and 23andME. How well does my “family narrative” hold up against the latest DNA technology? Plus, reflections on the slave trade.

I never watch long ancestry DNA videos, I skip through until I see the results; but this was so interesting that I wanted to watch the whole thing! Great work!
