Guykids Inc: Guyanese Educator Gives Back: Helping Neediest Kids in Guyana

Guykids Inc, a 501C3 charity, was founded in 2008 in Maryland by Pansy Marshall Browne former Physics Professor at the University of Guyana, Math Professor at Bowie State University and DCPS public school teacher.

Its mission is to assist with the education, wellbeing and uplifting of those children who live in the impoverished areas of Kitty, Tiger Bay, Sophia, Albouystown and Agricola, and other impoverished areas in Georgetown…. None are excluded!

An annual Xmas party co-hosted by Guykids Inc’s Pansy Browne, Melville Marshall (Proprietor of The Village Couture boutique ) and Patricia Coates (seamstress/fashion designer) and Volda Lawrence MP is held in December where food, clothing, sneakers, books, toys and school supplies are distributed.

In 2013 over 500 kids and parents, attended enjoyed the carol singing. Face painting, the clown and DJ’s Christmas music

In 2015 the party was held on Valentines’ Day. No one left empty handed.

Guykids Inc. has also adopted several schools in Georgetown and is furnishing their libraries with computers, printers, and books in preparation of launching READ ACROSS GUYANA in 2015.

In 2016 we donated clothing and school supplies to Anna Regina, Essequibo and provided life jackets to kids in Berbice.

Our Read Across Guyana initiative sponsored a reading contest which was won by a student in Buxton who read a 100 books.

Guykids Inc. will soon implement a program to provide instruction in the art of SEWING, DRESSMAKING AND FASHION DESIGN run by Patricia Coates.

Guykids Inc. needs your financial support:

Donations can be made through PayPal at the website

Let us break the poverty cycle of illiteracy, illness, and unemployment that these kids face if they continue to be undereducated.

Pansy is doing phenomenal work with her GuyKids organization. I know personally that she makes sure that we all chip in to support this important effort.
