Modern waterfront recreational areas projects nearer fruition

Minister of Public Infrastructure, David Patterson

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure is in the process of assessing environmental, social and economic impacts as it prepares to commence the creation, restoration and modernisation of several waterfront recreational areas.

Speaking with the Department of Public Information (DPI), Minister of Public Infrastructure, David Patterson said after identifying and addressing those issues, the Ministry will tender for the projects and work is expected to start immediately after.      Continue reading

IAAFThe IAAF World Championships 2017 which concluded in London yesterday may have marked the decline of Caribbean Track and Field performance. The failure of the Jamaicans, in particular, in track events which they had previously dominated is a sure signal that fortunes of the Caribbean in international athletics are on downward curve.

The spotlight was naturally on the farewell performance of Usain Bolt, arguably the world’s greatest athlete ever. He showed why it is important for athletes to know when to leave the world stage. ‘Not long till your birthday!” the receptionist shouts as Earl Cameron materialises in the lobby of the Holiday Inn near his home in Warwickshire. He’s come with his wife, Barbara, to check on the party arrangements. They’ve booked the conference suite, which he now fears is too small, given all the guests who are coming. He has six children scattered around the world, more grandkids than he can keep track of, plus scores of old friends.
