 “You may well have another North Sea at your doorstep,” said former Trinidad and Tobago Energy Minister, Kevin Ramnarine earlier this year. This was at a symposium hosted by the Guyana Oil and Gas Association (GOGA).

Commercial extraction of oil on the shores of the North Sea dates back to 1851; it continues today with new discoveries being made. The North Sea has several oil bearing wells claimed by the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.   Continue reading

after she visited Buckingham Palace last month, meeting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry and receiving a prestigious award for her work in suicide and other social issues.

Legendary investigative reporter Seymour Hersh is challenging the Trump administration’s version of events surrounding the April 4 “chemical weapons attack” on the northern Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun – though Hersh had to find a publisher in Germany to get his information out.

In the Sunday edition of Die Welt, Hersh reports that his national security sources offered a distinctly different account, revealing President Trump rashly deciding to launch 59 Tomahawk missiles against a Syrian airbase on April 6 despite the absence of intelligence supporting his conclusion that the Syrian military was guilty.     Continue reading
