What if Donald Trump’s color was on the other skin? Would he still be in?

By Yvonne Sam

The American elections came to a close last November, and the American populace got the president they reserved and deserved. Donald John Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America. From his inauguration on January 20, 2017 to present date, it has become obvious that his catapulted admission into the presidential class has been fraught with more peril and consequences to the White House than anything else that has affected that institution for centuries.

After being a vicarious spectator to the endless contentious issues relative to him, I have been forced to mentally pose one question,— plainly and simply put, “What if the current president as the White House Resident was black?  Seriously, how long would he last?

Think for yet another moment, what if the former President had done even some of the things that the current president is doing now. Just what would have happened if the colour was on the other skin?  What would the American people have done?  Would he have met a fate like the Kennedy’s, or would he have been exiled and a call made for revocation of his citizenship.  In regards to this aspect I could continue with a million and one rhetorical questions. Because ultimately everyone in America and the world over knows that these things just would never be, if the color was on the other skin.

It is blatantly apparent with each new and passing day that President Trump feels that he is far above rebuke, and can do as he sees fit with absolutely no respect or thought for the good of the American people.  The 37th president of the United States  Richard Nixon is quoted as saying, “When the president does it that means it’s not illegal”. I am in total disagreement with such a statement, as I feel that our leaders must be held accountable in the selfsame manner as those they lead must be held accountable, or face the consequences. Saying that nothing the president does is illegal demarcates the “Haves” from the  “Have Nots).

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the 32nd American president  in a part quote admonishes that, “No man can occupy the office of President without realizing that he is President of all the people.” Seemingly such a principle has failed to reach the hearing of the current president, for he behaves as if he is the god of the country. The message to be conveyed here or the lesson understood is that Black folks cannot do what the white folks do and get away with it, as things are regarded differently. What is criminal for the Blacks is usually justice for the Whites.  There is something for the Blacks to learn from Donald Trump being in the White House.  He is going around doing everything unconstitutional under the sun, in the name of America. He is only in the first year of his administration and already his spending and traveling expenses are out of control.

We are witnessing live and in living color, every single thing which he accused former President Obama of doing.  Another mental question is, “If it was no good for Obama, then why now, is it good for him’?  It is no longer a Being White is Being Right situation. With that being stated, let it be known that in no way am I trying to promote a prejudicial or racist mindset. It is exactly what it is. The fact still remains that if the color was on the other skin, under no circumstances would the actions be tolerated.  They wouldn’t let us make it, so neither should we!

Usually those who have the most to conceal are usually the ones who display the offense against news and how it is spread and reported.  While the press has persuasive powers, it also has the means to edify and empower our people regarding certain conditions that continue to invade our fortresses. There is absolutely nothing unconstitutional about reporting of news and the press possessing the freedom to carry it out in the most objective manner determined. The truth be told, it is so constitutional for the press to express itself that all of the alarms should be sounded in regards to Trump’s persistent allegations of  the fake news simply carrying out is function. Irregardless of the angle from which the current presidential situation in America is being seen, if the color was on the other skin things would never have the same way been.   America would vehemently deny that racism is not at play, but then again what can we say?

What does it matter what colour people are ? We are not living in 19th century but 25th century where we should be liberal not be stuck in dark ages

Obama was first black president who could not do anything for USA. On television the country look glamorous but there is extreme poverty that is never seen on TV.

Trump is just a show man with big mouth
If you ask any guyanese they will say I can run the country better.

So give trump a chance and let him eradicate the vermin and wicked people

Bruce you are forgiven seeing that you do not even have a clue as to which century we are in. Obama was black and that is a known fact. What the writer takes to task and simply asks, is given Donald’s performance thus far and no call for his head on a charger, if he was black like they did with Obamawould the same be done.
Trump can use his skills and get rid of the vermins just like the Pied Piper of Hamelin did with the rats. ( If you are that well read). As for the wicked people I am certain he can figure out an eradication plan. Or better still you assist him with suggestions.
