Vintage “Made for Steelband and Road March” Songs by Lord Kitchener, pre-eminent composer of Steelband Music:
- Kitchener’s compositions were enormously popular as the chosen selections for steel bands to perform at the annual National Panorama competition during Trinidad Carnival. Over the years his music was recognized not only as superbly suited to the steelband, but he continued to write songs not just for the pan, but about the instrument.
- Also, Lord Kitchener won the “Road March” competition ten times between 1965 and 1976, more times than any other Calypsonian..
