Guyana- The art of destabilisation

In Guyana it has long been recognized that political parties are more about gaining power than ensuring development. That happens because the political leaders are firmly convinced that they are the ones who should sit at the top of the pile.

If there is any doubt about this, then how could you explain the response the Opposition Leader gave when a reporter asked him what he would do different. He said that his job is not to advise the government. That may be true, but if the country is important, then he can offer some advice. That is done in every country. And those countries prosper to the extent that they make money available to countries like Guyana.     Continue reading

US Presidential Acts and the Media – By Yvonne Sam

US PRESEIDENTIAL ACTS and the MEDIA

By Yvonne Sam

The mainstream media has continued to do what it does best– distort reporting of the facts to produce gains that are beneficial to them, at the expense of the general public whom they claim to serve.  It is of little wonder that President Elect Donald Trump called them “the enemy of the people”.

Case in point shows the complete inaccuracy surrounding Trump’s executive order on immigration.  Thanks once again to the mainstream media and the Democrats. World Bank: Caribbean Should Spend Better, Not More

CARIBBEAN360  APRIL 9, 2017

WASHINGTON, United States, Sunday April 9, 2017 – Amid concerns about high spending by some Caribbean governments, the World Bank says there’s nothing wrong with spending. But rather than spend more, they need to spend better.

It says Latin America and the Caribbean can dramatically improve its infrastructure by better assessing priorities and improving spending efficiency.

In an April 7 report titled “Rethinking Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean – Spending Better to Achieve More”, the World Bank argues that although the region trails others in infrastructure investment, it should focus on spending better before thinking of spending more.   Continue reading
