Famous Prize-Winning Guyanese artist DUDLEY CHARLES has mounted an Art Exhibition at the Guyana Embassy in Washington, DC, as part of Guyana’s 47th Republic Anniversary celebrations. Some of the classic paintings by the talented veteran artist, were put on display at a special ceremony on February 24, 2017.
In his address to the gathering, Guyana’s Ambassador to the United States, and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States, Dr Riyad Insanally, expressed his delight as he welcomed those who attended the Launch Ceremony of the exhibition. Continue reading →

“A Fitting Memorial for E.R. Braithwaite ” – By Francis Quamina Farrier
Memorial Service held on Saturday March 25, 2017, for E.R. Braithwaite
Dozens of relatives and close friends of the late E.R. Braithwaite, were present at the Washington National Cathedral, yesterday morning (March 25). It was in celebration and in Thanksgiving for the Life of Eustace Edward Ricardo Braithwaite, author of the ever-popular book and movie, “To Sir, With Love”.
Representing Guyana at the ceremony, was Ambassador Dr. Riyad Insanally, who in his tribute said, “Ted Braithwaite’s accomplishments went far beyond anything I could ever hope to achieve. “Quite simply Ted Braithwaite was not just a son of Guyana, he was one of Guyana’s greatest gifts to the world as scholar, educator, writer, diplomat and humanist. “And he was, of course, an exemplar of the enlightened citizen of the world.” Continue reading →
