canadian-pressWASHINGTON – Canadian courses for Trump University were taught by a couple who used aliases, declared multiple bankruptcies, lost a real-estate licence and were sanctioned by securities regulators over a multimillion-dollar swindle, according to documents reviewed through a joint investigation by The Canadian Press and The Associated Press.

An Ontario husband-and-wife team identifying themselves as Dave Ravindra and Rita Bahadur taught Trump courses in Canadian cities in 2010, before Trump’s namesake real-estate seminars folded amid mounting inquiries from U.S. regulators and complaints from former students.     Continue reading

In a few days’ time, the outcome of the US presidential election will be known. Whichever of the two principle candidates wins, it is likely that sooner or later they will have to accept that the old global order has changed, and the country they need to reach an accommodation with, as an equal, is China.

Although Europe and Russia would have it that they too are world powers and opinion formers in the multipolar world that is emerging, neither has as strong or convincing an economic, military, diplomatic, and political case as China has, to be in the first division of global power.      Continue reading

Does Hillary Clinton need to win Florida to reach 270?

With some battleground state polls tightening, both presidential candidates have frenetically campaigned around the country in the effort to lock down enough states to add up to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

Overall, Hillary Clinton still appears to have a broader path to victory. NBC’s battleground state map estimates that 182 electoral votes are a lock for Clinton, with an additional 92 leaning blue, for a projected total of 274.

NBC News estimates that 71 electoral votes are solidly in Trump’s column, with an additional 109 leaning his way, for a total of 180.    [Read more]
