Remember Gary Hart? In a big political campaign the little moments count. Privacy is obliterated as the media’s perpetual hunger for news unmasks the tiniest details of impropriety. In the case of Gary Hart they didn’t have to look far. He gave the media the juicy details of his private life on a platter. It was Hart who told reporters ‘to follow me around. I don’t care. If anybody wants to put a tail on me, go ahead. They’d be very bored.’
But the media had the last laugh. A report from the Miami Herald stated that Hart was having a dalliance with a woman that was not his wife. He was messing around in real time with Donna Rice, in a boat appropriately named ‘Monkey Business.’ The animal, it turned out, could not be tamed.

A political career is complicated enough – being all things to all people – that is what you are elected to do – speak for the people.
The ‘others’ who may be eavesdropping while you are speaking at another location – may call it lying?!? But, the politician needs to lend an ear to everyone.
Donald Trump’s base is NOT enough to get him elected in 2016 or ever ….
But, BREXIT-plus is worth our consideration and the effort to stand in line rather than to be complacent ….. America needs to make sure it does NOT happen on this side of the pond.
The people I know that just went out to exercise “a protest vote” across the pond – don’t feel so pompous and proud now, re: BREXIT – we’re British.
