Poem for Our First Lady: Michelle Obama – Leonard Dabydeen

By Leonard Dabydeen

First Lady Michelle Obama

As Our First Lady: Michelle Obama

  • She has rhythm in her prance
  • Her color rich without askance
  • Nothing in her stride to hide
  • As our First Lady surfing the tide.
  • Brisk is her walk to a podium
  • She delivers her messages without idiom
  • Her hands move with her expression
  • As our First Lady holds no obsession.
  • You cannot attempt to grab her thoughts
  • So much to admire the way she walks
  • She strives for family, women’s rights
  • As our First Lady turns on the lights.

A First Lady with style and class but most of all with brilliance.

Great write . You made me write my version:

Never had I contemplated on her or followed what she spoke. But the following tribute came from the heart n kudos to you Michelle…

    Wit, verve and vivacity;
swift like an arrow in word
    and deed; grounded and earthy
    she makes heads turn twice!

    In every word is found
    sincerity flowing and touching
in the swing of hand and in
    fluid eyes found forthrightness

    Transparent her demeanour
    conviction her stride
    she, the family’s strength
    wow, the nation’s first lady!

    Concern and compassion
    her forte; mother to daughters,
a role model to the girl-children
of the world; thumbs up, my lady!

I SMILE WITH Pride and pray that all ladies will take one thing from this Great ‘
Lady’s Book’. First Lady we will miss you from the White House but hopefully we will still be able to keep in touch with her inspiring work.
