  1. Venezuela had assigned Spanish names to Guyana’s territory in Google maps.  This has been corrested by Google after submissions by Guyana’s government.
  2. Rice exports: Paddy exports increased to a record  537,000 tons  in 2015. Here is an extended report on the rice sector highlighting production and income from international sales.
  3. Prime Minister Nagamootoo talks about the government’s efforts in expanding the sales of Guyanese products abroad. He also defends the integrity and sovereignty of Guyana.  
  4. The Guyana Geology and Mines Department to step up the monitoring of interior locations to ensure they adhere to the laws of Guyana.
  5. The Township of Mahdia in the interior of Guyana, may be delayed due to lack of Local Government infrastructure.  Lethem, Mabaruma and Bartica remains on target for implementation in March 2016.
